Press Release
„Mai Thai University“ ist die Inszenierung einer subversiven „Dichterakademie“ im Berlin Kreuzberg des Jahres 2010. Alle Personen dieser 48-stündigen Inszenierung entstammen dem Umfeld Keren Cytters und Ihrer Performance Gruppe Dance International Europe (D.I.E.) Now Company.
„Mai Thai University“ is a staged subversive poets academy in Berlin/Kreuzberg in the year 2010 and background for Keren Cytter’s new video work. All participants of this 48-hour happening belong to the closer environment of Keren Cytter and her performance group Dance International Europe (D.I.E.) Now Company.
The exhibition in our Berlin gallery shows a documentation of this happening as well as Keren Cytter’s video Konstruktion, for which the artist sublimated and transformed the occurrences into a film.
Spoken words transform into poetry, the poetical text transforms into images. Konstruktion is a composed and conceptually sophisticated Berlin-film with aesthetically catchy images and a rhythmic structure that permeates not only speech and movements of the participants but also their glances on the carefully chosen surroundings and objects.
