"Aprés moi le déluge" was yesterday - today, the call for sustainability is becoming louder and louder in the art market as well. Kunstforum Zürich in cooperation with Löwenbräukunst Zürich, moderated by Elke Buhr, editor-in-chief of MONOPOL magazine and an expert in this field, is dedicated to the ecological restructuring of the art industry.

"Green Deal for Art" addresses all these aspects with lectures and discussions. In high-profile keynotes, curator Lucia Pietroiusti, art market expert Victoria Siddall and artist Pedro Wirz will explore the various aspects of the topic at the interface between ecology and art.

Sustainability is probably the most pressing topic of the present day - also in the art world. Numerous artists have made ecological issues the subject of their work. But institutions and actors themselves have long been on the look-out for ways to save resources and reduce their ecological footprint. Energy consumption, storage, shipping, travel, exhibition organisation: there is a need for action in all these areas for the various players in the art market, from museums to biennials to the art trade.

Lucia Pietroiusti is responsible, among other things, for the "General Ecology Project" of the Serpentine Galleries in London, which is advancing the sustainable conversion of the institution. Victoria Siddall is the long-standing director of the Frieze art fair and co-founder of the Gallery Climate Coalition, which promotes the ecological transformation of the art trade. And Brazilian-Swiss artist Pedro Wirz has, among other things, unfolded his specific working method between science, activism and art in his recent and internationally acclaimed exhibition "Enviromental Hangover" at Kunsthalle Basel.

In the subsequent panel, Gianni Jetzer, Director of the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, Andrew Stramentov, CEO of the company ROKBOX, which makes art transport more ecological, Saskia Draxler as a gallery owner with a long-standing affinity for sustainability issues and a pioneer in the field of digital art and NFT, curator Martina Huber from the organisation "Awareness in Art" (AIA) and Pedro Wirz will discuss current questions on the topic.
